Posted By Mark Dutton. Does anybody, particularly in the educational area, have a First Aid Policy/Procedure that they could share with me to prevent having to reinvent yet another wheel. I would be particularly interested to see what you do about getting people to hospital when the injury is not serious enough to call an ambulance. Seasonal Greetings to everyone Mark

Posted By JamesK Mark, The last company I worked for had the same problem. Knowing what to do in the event that an ambulance was not available or in your query, what to do if the injury is not serious enough to call one. The way this was handled was as follows; 1/ The first aider would call the hospital / ambulance and detail the injury and a judgement call would be made if the ambulance was to be sent out or not. 2/ If the injury was not serious then a taxi was called and the first aider would go with the injured party to ensure that no further injuries happened. etc 3/ If possible, a doctor was called to the place of injury and he/she would inform the first aider if the ambulance was to be called. Although this was a large multi-natoinal company, the same procedures could be used in any industry. Hope this helps a little. James
