The UK Health & Safety Executive have been putting themic links to industry and topic related matters - there is one dedicated to noise and can be found on:

http://www.hse.gov.uk/noise/index.htm

Hope that proves useful to you.

There is also a section on noise in the Principles of Health & Safety at Work by our very own Allan St. John Holt.

If you have a copy of the HSE "Essentials of Health and Safety at Work" you'll find a short section on noise there as well.

Calogero,

Please feel free to email me directly. I am an occupational (industrial) hygienist experienced in establishing monitoring strategies.
