Posted By Andrew J. Böber Can someone remind me the recommended max height for shelving as I seem to be obsessing about ladders for the better part of the day and now find it hard not to think about anything else.

Posted By Paul Oliver Lat time i went to IKEA i didn't think they could make a ladder long enough to reach the top shelf in the storage area. can you provide a little more detail regarding your working area, bearing in mind that employees can still fall at heights below 2 metres and incur serious injury. paul

Posted By Chris Uren Andrew Don't worry about the height. Whats the risk assessment on what you store and how you access it. The racking can be 50ft high as long as it is safe to access the stuff by using the right systems / equipment. Chris

Posted By Alec Wood It's not the height of the shelf, it's how you get yourself and the stuff up there, and back down again. Here we have had a company policy for a while of not fixing shelves higher than 1.8m, except in the warehouse where the "shelves" are those used by forklift trucks. Alec
