Received the following email this morning from a client:
"We had a fire drill this morning and a question has arisen.
It was confirmed that none of the companies within our office complex phoned the fire brigade
Customer Services (reception staff) are unhappy to stay behind and phone the fire brigade."
A new trend?

Nominate an individual with the specific responsibility of calling the fire brigade (ensure he/she has a deputy etc etc). Issue said individual with a mobile phone. This would also ensure that the call could still be made even if land lines are damaged by the fire.

Already done Shane - I was just surprised that there has been an objection to calling the emergency services to the extent that nobody did it.

So, who's job was it to do so, Geoff? Is any Management Regs type of co-operation going on in this shared building?

Link the fire alarm to automatically call the emergency services (ES) as soon as it sets off.
For testing purposes we have to phone and enter a pass code to deactivate the alarm for 1 hour, the test has to be done in that hour then it resets itself to call the ES.
Just a thought.
