I don't know about the statutory frequency of inspection but the requirement to inspect would be under 'PUWER'. Your racking supplier should be able to advise you further.

Posted By Gordon Thelwell Hi Shane, I am a Pallet Racking Safety Inspector working for a company in Yorkshire. I regard a Pallet Racking Inspection System as having three teirs. 1. A reporting system for the operational staff in the warehouse whereby damage to racking can be reported and assessed immediately. 2. A weekly inspection by a competent and trained member of staff. 3. An inspection by an independant racking company at intervals of between 6 months and at least 12 months as stated by the SEMA and FEM (Federation of European manufacturers) Guidelines. PUWER is the Relavant Statutory Provision in this case with particular attention to Regs 4 & 5.
