Posted By Paul Leadbetter Jim Your course provider should have talked you through exam technique. There is no fixed format for the report but you should aim for 500-750 words which say: where and when the inspection took place a brief summary of what was found a short list of issues requiring urgent attention (with convincing arguments as to why the action is necessary and including possible breaches of legislation) refer to your list of observations and, for your recommendations, call attention to any which might have a high cost in terms of time, trouble or expense. Good luck Paul

Posted By Alec Wood We were always told not to forget to put a couple of good points in the report too. Our course tutors would not provide us with a sample, but one of the other students knew someone taking the course over a longer timeframe at another college and did bring in one of their reports. It had scored around 80% of the marks available when submitted there, but one of our tutors (also the examiner) said he would have marked it borderline fail. So it would seem the "right" way to write the report depends on who you are submitting it to and where. Alec Wood Samsung Electronics
