We are about to embark on a construction project which will involve the above subject.
The trusses are 6.350m high overall. The wall plate is at 3.0m FLL, therefore the height overall from finished floor to the ridge is 9.350 m.
The trusses will be fixed in two stages as each truss will be delivered in three sections the two lower sections will span the building and then a 'top hat' truss will be placed on top.
Whilst we have carried out this type of project before we have not carried it out at such a height. I wished to sound out other members of the forum to see what protection/prevention measures they have used in this situation before that have been successful and also what extra issues we may need to potentially be aware of.

A working platform erected (close boarded) at eaves to erect the lower parts of the trusses. The top part can be installed using a tower. Obviously the works should be carried out in stages, one truss at a time.

Although the trusses have to be delivered in sections; consider assembling the 3 parts flat on the ground to make a single truss then craning the complete truss into position. You can take the approach further by making a dummy wallplate at ground level to act as a jig to assemble the trusses into blocks [fully braced]then craning the blocks onto the roof. You could always try contacting the truss designers and ask them how [under CDM] they envisaged the trusses being safely erected!!!
