All,
My company will be doing a charity lorry pull in a few months time. The pull will be for 7 miles around a local town. The police have requested that we carry out a risk assessment. Has anyone carried out an assessment for a similar topic? Or could you offer some advice?
I myself have opted out of the pulling, wise choice i beleive.
Thanks in advance.
R.

HSE’s L23 on manual handling has just been revised and now includes a checklist on pushing and pulling loads.
Why is it that a risk that would not be tolerated in most work situations is tolerable if that risk is taken for charity? Imagine the response to the plea: the lorry has broken down lads, please can you come and pull it into the yard?
It's the same NHS that treats the bad backs etc. and that we all pay for.
Which charity is it? http://www.backcare.org.uk
