Posted By Gavin I was just trawling through the HSE Statistics Highlights and noted that they provide the annual stats in the form of 2001/02, 2002/03, etc. If I want the stats for the year 2002 which one should I look at? Why do the HSE insist on complicating relatively simple things?

Posted By Jay Joshi1 The reason is that the Stats are from 1st April of a particular year to 31 March of the next year--hence the notation.

Posted By peter gotch Gavin and further to Jay's comment this follows from RIDDOR95 which came into force on April Fool's Day (which is typical for H&S legislation other than eg CDM which came into force on 31 March). Peter
