Posted By Jimmy I had the same problem two years ago whereby all "incidents were logged but not segregated into catagories. Hence the accident / incident rates were all over the place. I evaluated the incidents and put them into my own "subjective" lists i.e near miss,property damage, first aid, vehicles, environmental, RIDDOR type etc etc then started a monthly approach to stats. By the end of the year the company had a more realistic view of all trends, and targets were set for any improvements that were required. By the second year every thing panned out and now all managers and field engineers are concious of the fact that their actions affect the Company stats. It was a bit of hard work at first but really worth the effort. Hope this helps
