Recently moved posts and I'm now working for a SME Chemical Manufacturer. As part of my early work I'm creating some improvement targets; two of which being the reduction in personal injury and non-injury incidents. The site is without an LTA for past 3 years but the figures don't add up re: the accident triangle.
Can anyone advise of a source for a current industry 'norm' for PI and NII's? I've feeling this kind of info isn't published too often.
I've contacted the CIA but they only have figures for LTA / major injuries.

I had the same problem two years ago whereby all "incidents were logged but not segregated into catagories. Hence the accident / incident rates were all over the place.
I evaluated the incidents and put them into my own "subjective" lists i.e near miss, property damage, first aid, vehicles, environmental, RIDDOR type etc etc then started a monthly approach to stats. By the end of the year the company had a more realistic view of all trends, and targets were set for any improvements that were required. By the second year every thing panned out and now all managers and field engineers are concious of the fact that their actions affect the Company stats.
It was a bit of hard work at first but really worth the effort.
Hope this helps
