Posted By Darren Liffen There was an interesting thread recently upon these pages, in respect of working in hostile countries, such as Iraq etc. Can anybody remember the date or title of that as I would like to refer to some of the pointers that were suggested from a procedural/risk assessment point of view prior to sending employees overseas. Thanks and Regards, Darren Liffen.

Posted By Rob Todd Darren, I work in hostile environments and have regularly been to Afghanistan, Iraq etc. I wrote an article which was produced in the "Lancet Extreme Medicine Supplement" volume 362 December 2003 - entitled "health & Safety in Hostile Environments" - you can access the article on their website: www.thelancet.com It is due to go onto the IOSH International Specialist Group website (once copyright is sorted - funny, I thought I owned it but apparently I don't!) in the very near future. If you also look back in the archives for the IOSH National Conference 2003 you will find copies of my lecture on the subject to conference. I hope these may be of some help. Cheers Rob
