How much would SME's expect to be quoted by a consultant to write and help implement a health and safety policy? Do they charge by the hour, by the day or a one off payment?
Thanks in anticipation.

Consultant Safety Practitioners will work for between £250 and £700 a day depending on the skill and specialism level! A fair going rate for mundane stuff like you quote, might be around the £350 - £450 per day mark and that will probably include expenses. For specialist 'short term' jobs like a good specialist risk assessment or safety management problem solving, you could be talking about £600 a day upwards. Remember that the old adage remains true - you nearly always get what you pay for!
