Dear all,

We are about to use RULA (Rapid Upper Limb Assessment) as a tool to assess the risks from MSD's / WRULD's. We have researched other methods and have found that this system is ideal for our situation.

I have a one page RULA assessment form but have seen a copy somewhere of a RULA assessment form which was broken down into 4-5 pages that is more user friendly.

Has anyone seen this or similar and would be willing to send me a copy, preferably electronic.

I would be happy to exchange other risk assessment documents in return.

Many thanks in advance.

Andrew.

I saw what you are looking for during a recent search of my own although I can't remember where I saw it; look for RULA on Google and I am sure you will find it fairly easily.

Andy,

When studying for my MSc one of our sources for WRULD info was 'Applied Ergonomics'. One paper in particular that was v. beneficial in explaining RULA was 'RULA: a survey methos for the investigation of work-related upper limb disorders'. This can be found in Applied Ergonomics, 1993, Vol 24, No. 2, April (1993) pp. 91-99.

Hope this is of help!

I have a feeling that you will need a licence for the longer version.

You should find it via google search. Was formulated by the ergonomics consultancy at Nottingham Trent Uni as I recall. Prof N Corlett et al.

I think you're looking for HSE publication INDG171 "Upper Limb Disorders - assessing the risks".
If printed double sided, this provides a good 5 page assessment pro-forma /aide memoire.

Have you considered the REBA assessment tool, Rapid Entire Body Assessment, researched and developed for use in the health care setting, however, is also suitable for inanimate load situations. If you have not yet considered this option, i strongly recomend you do. If you need any further information , I will forward it to you.

you can find the web-based electronic version of the RULA WRULD assessment tool at:
http://www.ergonomics.co.uk/Rula/Ergo/index.html

There's also a RULA adapted for office/DSE work assessments, at:
http://humanics-es.com/rula-2.htm

I wouldn't mind the info re REBA if someone can forward it to me. thanks
