Posted By brian mills Sorry to bother you guys but can somebody lead me to the discussion regarding the Disability Discrimination Act. I made some notes but cannot seem to find them, was it just regarding the accessing and egressing of public buildings?

If the DDA is important in your work, it is vital to grasp that its scope concerns any barrier to physically or mentally impaired customers of employees, of any age.
For a good legal perspective, the barrister Brian Doyle has written a guide published in 2000 by Jordan's. The BS 8300-2001 (Design of buildings and their approaches to meet the needs of disabled people - Code of Practice) is also a good reference. And the architectural and ergonomic guidance of James Holmes-Siegle in 'Barrier free design. A manual for designers and managers' (Architectural Press, 1996) is invaluable.

Posted By David Thomas You also might like to look at Appendix M to Building Regulations. This has been around for some time now (about 15years I think) but has been ignored by so many architects and designers who are having great difficulty in incorporating requirements for those with all forms of disability.
