Is it just me or is anybody else out there struggling for suitable courses etc with enough CPD points to maintain RSP status?

No suggestion that it is 'just you' but when I recently submitted my logbook for assessment for maintenance of my RSP status, it included a summary sheet claiming 45 points with NONE for courses.
To my 'happy' surprise, the assessor (whose name I can't even read!) agree precisely with my numerical claims across 4 areas: Professional conferences/seminars (10 points), Professional publications/papers (13 points), technical and professional services (7 points), H & S Developments/Training (15 points). He/She added 'RSP candidate participates in diverse activity and appears to meet the intent of CPD participation'.
There is a technique called 'self-characterisation, which can fairly readily enable you to identify development needs you can address for the CPD requirement for RSP. If you'd like to phone (020 8654 0808) or email me, kieran@enabling-space.com, I'd be happy to introduce you to it and to its source in personal construct psychology.

I'm the same as Kieran, the points don't come from courses, although of course I do some. If you can't attend enough, try delivering some instead: that'll earn you points!

I'd agree with Kieran and Neil - never had any difficulty in finding enough points for CPD despite intial fears. (When I first registered - voluntarily for CPD - as an "associate" member of IOSH with NEBOSH cert, I was doing my diploma and was able to get plenty of points under the Continuing Education Section. Some people were telling me how it would cost me "thousands" to keep up once the diploma was complete.)
I do attend courses, but most of these have been "in-house" organised by my employer or trade union. I attend IOSH Branch meetings and other professional association/networking and benchmarking meetings. I have also claimed points under the "Developments/Training" section for the production and (initial) delivery of (new) training material, etc.
The only problem I have with CPD is sometimes knowing what to claim. My current job description is so broad and runs into about a billion pages and it might be argued that everying I ever do is part of my "day to day job"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't do UK training courses or regional meetings. But I like to keep up and learn/apply something different now and again.
Most of my points used to come for adapting safety management systems and safety training programmes to different companies and industries. Nowadays they seem to come from behavioural based safety.
We also provide a service which helps companies keep up to date with legislation - which means we have to be up there before them. That, too, is part of CPD.
I would also vote for this chat line to be included in the CPD points system. I learn something new every time I log on.
How about one CPD point for every 10 relevant responses ? (that you give or that you get)
