With the so-called 'super bug' starting a media frenzy a few weeks ago, I've been trying to contact my local NHS Trust with the proposition of using tea tree oil cleaning products as a means to kill MRSA.

Unfortunately, a wall of bureaucracy seems to be thwarting efforts simply to speak with people.

Could anyone suggest a way round this?

Many thanks,

Steve Thomas.

Have you tried the Infection Control team at your local Primary Care Trust? Mine is really helpful & will even speak to employees direct. They are certainly worth cultivating (no pun intended!)

Try the Health Protection Agency (HPA).

Contact details via the HPA website.

Does tea tree oil actually work, then? You would have thought that if it does then everyone would want to be using the stuff. Sounds a bit unlikely to me!
