Educating school children about construction work at their school - HELP PLEASE!
Rank: Guest
|
Posted By Alexandra Mackie I've been asked for help regarding a presentation to a high school assembly about construction work that is ongoing at the school.
Does anyone have any good material/information that would keep 11 - 16 year old interested for 10 mins or so?
All help gratefully accepted!
Thanks Alexandra

Posted By Kevin stone Hi I seem to remember the HSE having a campaign about this. Stay safe safety on construction sites, it had a wee digger mascot called digger funniley enough. Dont know what age group it was aimed at mind. Failing that chuck on a tape of bob the builder and discuss!! Keep us informed on what you decide. Good luck cheers Kev.

Posted By Gilly Margrave The HSE Stay Safe campaign included a comic book and activity poster - my guess about the right level. HSE stock number was MISC447 2002.

Posted By Steve Langston Try the following link www.splaat.com(splaat stands for Safe Play At All Times) this is specifically for schoolchildren and was developed between Laing Homes and the National Grid for learning) I have a school assembly powerpoint presentation that was down loaded from the site that i will send to you direct. There are also loads of other downloadable documents and activities!! Good luck Steve

Posted By Jim Walker Steve,
Just had a look at Splaat - brilliant site!
The Site Safety inspector game was most enjoyable - going straight into my training schedules!!
