Dear All,
I have searched but couldn't find another thread on this issue. Has anyone found a company willing to perform these surveys for a reasonable price? Each company that I have contacted only wishes to perform a type 2 survey.
I understand the benefit of type 2 with regard to identification but it is not appropriate for our needs. We rarely have contractors and don't expect to find a great deal of asbestos anyway but would like a professional to assess properties rather than perform an audit internally.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Don't know what part of the country you are, but Browns Health and Safety in Leicester do Type 1 as well as Type 2 - 0116-2784592.

You should try the following.
John Delaine of John Delaine Associates on 01252 328803 they provide the BOHS course work on MDHS 100 and has worked with labs etc for thirty years or more, has written books and is well respected by the HSE – asbestos FOD in various regions.

Not used their services personally but worked alongside a man (Ken) for quite some time who has recently joined Browns a very competent chap he is too, with an eye for detail - thats a drink he owes me.
