Posted By Ron Hunter Have you trawled the HSE website prosections section? I'm sure you can search under specific Regulations (e.g. Regulations 7,14 or 15 of CDM Regs.

Posted By Robert Thomas Hi Liam The following is part of a report made during Spring of 2000. 'A firm of Planning Supervisors, Daniel Lelliot Kranze Ltd. was fined £15000 plus £5000 costs following exposure of workers to asbestos on a multi-million pound housing development near Camborne in Cornwall. The contractor was fined £40000 with £25000 costs. The court heard that at one time there was a 5000 tonne asbestos contaminated spoil tip on the 42 acre site and that workers were exposed to asbestos levels of between 1500 to 15000 times the control limit. The Planning Supervisors, based in Maidenhead, had a duty to supply the contractor with adequate advice and a health and safety plan, which it had not done. The court was told that there had been a 'wholesale disregard' for the safety, welfare and lives of workers on the site in May 1997.' Some further stats for 2001 show that some eleven Planning Supervisors were fined, during this period, the average fine running to £2600, with the maximum that year being £7500. I'll try to dig out some more if you still need the info. Also try the HSE site if you haven't already done so. Regards Rob
