Posted By Keith Egerton Yes, if it has been diagnosed by a doctor, in writing and the person uses equipment/undertakes work activities which can lead to the condition. Under RIDDOR its not called RSI, but 'Cramp of the hand or forearm'. It is only reportable if a chronic condition, 'one off'/acute/short term cramp would not be reportable. Refer to Pt 1 Schedule 3 to the guide to RIDDOR, its number 8 in the list of reportable diseases. You would report on an F2508A form.

Posted By Zyggy Turek Marvin, Further to the previous response, the phrase "RSI" is often associated with Upper Limb Disorders (ULD's) which covers over 20 medical conditions. They are both basically a generic term for the same conditions, but RSI is usually associated with the arm, wrist, hand & fingers. Under RIDDOR, there is another Occ. Disease that requires reporting (if associated with the prescribed activity, i.e. Number 12. "Traumatic inflammation of the tendons of the hand or forearm or of the associated tendon sheaths".
