The company I work for has a number of shops in the high street, which are rented/leased from private landlords and local councils. I have recently been asked about a building certificate. My question is what is a building certificate and where do I get one from?

any more info/clues? Who's asking for a certificate? Are they using the correct terminology? Fire certificate, test certificates, Building Log Book?
