Yes other professional forums are this rough. I frequent a number of fora (is that the plural?) for fire safety and arson investigation, both in the UK and US and when you get a pair who disagree or don't like each other, it can get very personal - some make this forum look like a church meeting (although with the various arguments in the C of E at present, maybe that wasn't a good choice of example)

Hi all,
At the company i work for, each First Aider is supplied with their own personel First Aid Kit (free of any charge), and no one else has got any access to these. One first aider is then responsible for replacing any used items and also for frequently checking the 'use before' dates on the items in all the First Aid Boxes. The reason we adopted this way was so if anyone injured themselves even slightly which would just require a plaster, they would have to see a First Aider for one. The First Aider then makes an entry of the accident in the accident book immediately after treating the IP (we only allow first aiders to fill out the book, but we encourage all employees to report any accident no matter how small so the accident book can be filled out).
After reading some of these comments in this thread, i am now wondering if the way we do things is wrong.
Could anyone let me know if the way we do things is O.K> or are we leaving ourselves open?

We do exactly the same as you with further back up from our managed stock people who ensure that the levels in the first aid rooms are kept at the amounts that we've specified. We do have a lot of other locations for incident report forms though so that anyone can report if they are involved in something that doesn't require first aid or a near-hit.

Surely posting an intial query is one thing (after all we all like a bit of banter), but when MarkSMark is attempting to pass his experience onto others (who may not know the requirements of H&S) then he is crossing the line.

This place is tame in comparison Chris. I also frequent a web-designers forum - although I'm not a professional web designer most of them there are either designers or own and run ISPs. They get really low down and dirty in their flame wars if one of them upsets someone else.
