Can anyone recommend me Companies which can assist with zoning for electrical apparatus in explosive gas atmospheres compliant with BSEN 60079-10 along with an indication of what they charge?
Thanks in advance,
Neil

Have you considered the applicability of the ATEX Directive.

We used AMEC Process Engineering, but I don't know what field you're in. You could try CAsella consultants (L'Pool), Environ there is loads.
I hope this helps.

The Atex Directive certainly applies but I believe it is concerned more with the requirements for equipment used in classified zones. 0,1,2 for gases and 20,21,22 for explosive dusts rather than zoning itself.
The scenario is GRP manufacture (by hand) and I require assistance in the classification of zones for the GRP shop, so I can establish the type of electrical equipment to use in those zones as per the ATEX Directive and DSEAR, I'm thinking, lighting, extraction, portable electrical equipment and FLTs.
Many thanks for the referal Andrew, I will contact AMEC and Casella.
If anyone has any further advice I would be delighted to hear it.
Neil

Chilworth Technologies, based in Southampton assisted us with a new process that used flammable solvents. I know a couple of other companies who used them too.
