I am reviewing our risk assessment for chain saw operations, and am satisfied with all aspects of the PPE except the foot wear, nothing in the standard catalogues looks robust enough, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Nick.

Nick,

When I was assessing PPE needs in the chemical industry, I talked directly to both the suppliers and manufacturers of the equipment.

They can give invaluable advice on suitability of clothing for specific hazards, along with supporting product data sheets.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Neil

In my former career I worked as a forester, we always talked to suppliers and found the best ones for each of us on the team. I prefer the "Oregon Green chainsaw" boot a link is below. I always went for these as they had good all round protection, kevlar lined with steel in the sole. I hated the chainsaw welly as made feet sweat and very sore on your feet after walking up and down hills all day!

Hope this helps
