Does anyone have an example of a presentation or notes so that I can devise a training session for gardeners and street cleaners to raise awareness of needles and the areas they can be found and the damage being injured by one can cause.

Good morning Ian
I am employed as a safety advisor by west mids fire service as you can imagine we have major problems with discarded needles in void properties that have been involved in fire, we are currently producing an up to date presentation on such things as HIV,hepatitis, MRSA etc.
If you send me your e-mail i will send you a copy when it is produced, you can then do with it as you wish.

Hi Ian,

Re your presentation, following are some USA web sites with good info (we use Euro & US standards out here in Saudi).

Oklahoma Uni - excellent sharps Powerpoint slides:
pp.okstate.edu/ehs/MODULES/index.htm

Good Info Sites:
cdc.gov/ncidod/ &
cdc.gov/niosh/

Hope this helps.

Dougie
