We are in the process of changing our cleaners, I have been pressurising for quite a while to change them. The ones we have now are terrible, they use the same water to mop the toilets as mop the office floors. The cloths they use to clean the desks I dread to think where they have been.
Does anybody have a Cleaning methodology/specification that we can use to go with our tender process. The sort of thing I mean is wearing different gloves for different tasks, something similar to that being introduced by the NHS.

Matthew.
Colour coding of equipment that is used for different tasks (much like canteens/kitchens) is an excellent way of ensuring that cleansing contractors toe the line with cleansing equipment.
Equipment stores may be a problem for some, as often it will be necessary to ensure that equipment is stored within the facility to be cleansed, and this sometime causes problems, however with training and regular checks on work and performance, such initiatives usually have a good take-up, including from the contractor, as their staff do not have to clean the equipment out for use in other areas or lug it about thus also reducing manual handling and time spent in the lugging and cleaning equipment.... hence the tasks can be completed more efficiently...
