Posted By Adrian Clifton Help required please. I am looking for a means of preventing unauthorised access up ladders. I remeber seeing an accessorie of approx 5 feet in length (I still work in old money) that hooked on to one of the rungs and was locked on to the ladder. The accessorie was a solid,1 piece item that covered the width of the rungs thus preventing access. Trouble is, I can't remember where I saw it or where it came from. Can anyone please stop me from dropping into the depths of despair and tell me what they are called and where I can obtain one from? Many thanks

Posted By Bob Baynes I've seen things like this - most often on children's play equipment on display. It is just a piece of plywood, the width of the rungs and as long as it needs to be. I suppose it could be hooked on at one end with some sort of padlock at the other or just giant turn buttons or another board bolted through it but the ones I have seen have just been drilled and cable tied to the ladder stiles. Even if you have to pay some local odd job man to make them, they should not be expensive. Happy Xmas, hope this helps!

Posted By Debbie Walker We have our in-house engineers create them (especially for fixed access ladders) complete with locking mechanism to prevent removal.
