Posted By Sonu Hello Readers of this forum. Are there friends who can advise me the life of timber poles which carry overhead telephone cables on the streets,walkways,foothpaths. Majority of the telephone cables carrying timber poles are more than 20 years old and are either cracked,damaged,dried and so on and so forth. Therefore Can anyone help me with the risk assessments on this cables carrying timber poles please which are in open and withstands all types of climate eg: rain,sun,wear and tear etc.

Posted By Len Newman The life is normaly a minimum of 40 years.These will be inspected and assessed when they need to be climed. I understand that B.T. wait till they fall then replace.Hope this helps. Give me a call. Len.
