Posted By Neil Batty I'd like to know from anyone within the gas cylinder handling industry what type of footwear is 'industry standard'. Do you supply your employees with steel toed boots that have metatarsel guards ? If anyone has a risk assessment for the handling of gas cylinders I would appreciate some advice, Thanks.

Posted By Danny Swygart Take a look at safety section of this link for general information http://www.bocindustrial.co.uk/ It only mentions protective footwear should be worn (we wear boots with steel toe cap and mid-sole) so you will need to risk assess what type is right for you. A lot of other good info for you on this site though.

Posted By Danny Swygart Check this link for AirProducts UK where you can get safety Trem cards with useful safety information for the particular types of gases you are using (including PPE). http://www.airproducts.c...es/safetyInformation.htm

Posted By Karen Todd Hello Neil, I noticed that the BOC delivery man wears exactly this type of boot. However, he is the one and only person I've ever seen wearing them. I think Arco have them in their catalogue. Regards, Karen
