Posted By Ron Hunter I think the HSE are as close as can be in providing a practical 'step by step' approach to various tasks in the building repair and maintenance trades in their publication "Asbestos Essentials - Task Manual" HSG210 ( a snip at £8.50!). The 'companion'guide HSG227 "A comprehensive guide to managing asbestos in premises" also has some good decision making flowcharts. You may also wish to get copies of relevant ACoPs L27 & L28. L27 clearly states what work can be done without a licence. As for attempting to boil all that info. down into 'checklists'- I wouldn't! (and no, I don't work for HSE/HSE books!)

Posted By Dave Wilson Steve, On the HSE Asbestos www their is a best practice bit and a number of organisations have put their stuff on there for perusal. The HSE have also produced a Video / DVD and accompanying training material on CD Rom as part of their 'working in partnership with the HSE' asbestos awareness campaign and is very good at telling you what you have to do with ACM's in your premises.. (Snip at £25) I now work for a Licenced Asbestos removal company and trust me mate there is a lot out there and a lot of people who own or control premises have no idea of what they need to do to Manage ACM's. Will email some stuff I am working on when I get back to my 'home' PC
