Can anyone suggest a suitable health and safety passport scheme for our employees who work on contaminated land, landfill sites conducting environmental surveys.
I am not sure if CSCS or the IOSH-SPA schemes would be suitable and give the detail required.

Robert - why do you think they need a 'passport'? If they are your employees, it is your responsibility to define the level of knowledge / training /experience they need to undertake the work safely.
Passport schemes may be useful in some sectors as a way of reducing the number of times an employee has to undergo basic induction training when visiting many different sites / clients under third party control. They do not act as a substitute for the employer providing adequate training and supervision - which sounds as if it may be more appropriate for the work you describe.
Of course the problem comes when you have a client who blindly insists that 'all contractor employees must have a ..... scheme passport' - without the slightest consideration or understanding of whether it is appropriate or not. You can (sometimes) educate the client, but more often it is simply a case of biting the bullet, inflating the tendered price and sending your staff on unnecessary irrelevant and expensive passport training and testing.
