Posted By Philip Roberts Hi all, One of the company union safety reps has made a statement that no one should sit within 10 feet or three metre's of a laser printer or photocopier. He has not indicated where this information is contained. I have now been asked to find guidance or legislation which states this as fact ? can anyone point me in the direction of such guidance or legislation thanks in advance Phil

Posted By Neil Pearson Working for the company that supplies "Laserjet" printers, may I say "rubbish"! Of course it depends on many factors, including room ventilation, age of the printer, maintenance etc.

Posted By Adam Jackson Phil, The only response can be that if they are making this claim then they should substantiate it. It doesn't matter how many learned websites and documents you wade through there could always be "that other one" which proves their case. Its a cliche, but you can never prove the negative.

Posted By Kevin Walker Its the same of story, a little bit of bad information intrepreted by the ill informed or ill equipped becomes a huge molehill, left to the knowledgeable to clean up the mess. kevin
