Posted By Chris Pope Jim I spent an hour listening to the Hilti rep expounding on this today. Give him a ring, they appear to be market leaders in this field : Peter Reynolds 0161 886 1433. He might redirect you so be patient.

Posted By Stephen_S_Edwards Jim, Have a word with the Hire Company. I know that Hewden, Speedy, etc have done a lot of work in relation to vibration. They should provide you with all the necessary information required. Steve

Posted By RP HSe have a section on vibration on their website. they also have a vibration calculater. If you know what the vibration measurements are (in the operators manual) then you this to determine the amount of time operatives may be exposed to risks.

Posted By Jeff Manion Have information 1 consider equipment. 2 how sharp is the tool 3 how well maintained 4 its use by the user, holding up in air differs from using on ground. 5 information on equipment is misleading and may provide the "best" results in laboratory not what actually is achieved at the workplace. send an e-mail and will send you something direct. Posted By Gary L Strongly advise against using just manufacturers measurements, there can be significant differences between them and what actually occurs out in the field. We used the Industrial Noise & Vibration Centre. They have a database of vibration exposures for a large number of tools. There details are below Tel : 01753 698800 Web : www.invc.co.uk

Posted By peter gotch Jim You will find a database of vibration levels together with traffic light system developed by the Construction Confederation, Hire Association Europe and HSE at http://www.thecc.org.uk/index.asp?page=whatsnew Need to treat with some caution, since dependent on how equipment is maintained, and how used by each individual. Regards, Peter
