I work as H&S Advisor/officer up the North East. I have the General NEBOSH certificate. I so want to expand my knowledge in Safety but find it very hard, due to cost mainly. I work through agencies mainly and on short team contracts so commiting myself to college is not an option at the moment. I have recently looked into the Diploma distance learning but the cost is to me is to great, and due to the patter of little feet soon would find it hard to find the time for such a heavy course over a short period. And if I failed after that.
ANY ADVISE ON COURSES OR DIRECTIONS TO GO WOULD BE WELCOMED. Or do I just have to bite the bullet and pay for myself. any donations would also be welcome LOL.
HELP

If you have a look at local colleges they run Dip 4 for approx 1500 and they do allow payment installments over the year to help spread the cost. Hope this helps. Good luck

Try Post Grad courses avaiable as distance learning from Strathclyde University -a lot less than Diploma and good tutor support via e-mail/phone etc.

Try the Open University, I upgrade to MIOSH this way and cost me just over 2k over 3 years.
Much better than commercial rates for Diploma

Presumably you want the qualification as opposed to learning? H&S courses can be expensive and if you cannot get your employer to help with the costs you may wish to consider an interest free bank loan.
A number of banks provide loans to students and they are not normally payable until after you have completed the course. Presuming of course, that you have gained meaningful employement. It also applies to distance learning courses.
