Hi all, I was just looking over my tutor notes for a health and safety course I present to our managers. One of the Overheads talks about “revitalising H&S" So my question is “what’s has happened to it. As far as I am aware the mid term targets are way off and I note also that little mention is made of this or revitalising and the brave new world in H&S by government, TU or employers organisations. If it’s dead or dying what next? Where do we go from here or is it back to the status quo with the emphasis back on complying with the 74 act?
Any thoughts.

obviously dead in the water Jack as the responses display.
It won't happen with the present government or HSE mentality a more cohesive and inclusive system is required after all we are merely tolerated and not really a essential requirment

There was a conference the week before last - look out for the press releases. I've only seen one so far and it must have been so exciting and revitalising that I can't remember what it said!!

I have been thinking on these lines myself. The HSE seem to have given up on it; they've not even updated their progress table since last April (still saying things will happen in June 2004. I think this is unfortunate because I found it a useful tool for encouraging my organisation.
