Posted By Steven Brown Has anyone assessed the impact that the new Vibration directive will have in general. Specifically i am interested in the effect that the vibration directive will have on heavy goods vehicles, imparticular the vibration effects on drivers in relation to the cab area (i.e. Seating). Your replies will be very much appreciated.

Posted By Stephen D. Clarke To me the requirements seem clear for hand tools and hand arm vibration. But whole body vibration from vehicles is a different matter. My impression is that the epidemiological link between driving, whole body vibration and back problems etc is rather fuzzy because its clouded by a number of other factors such as posture, manual handling that can also lead to back injury.
