Posted By mark boath In the event of a fire evacuation on site, we have an internal fire register for employees, a fire register for maintenance contractors but no register for delivery/collection drivers. At present we ask any drivers delivering/collecting goods to stay in their vehicles and await further instruction. The length of time on site varies from 15mins to 2hours. Can anybody help with ideas on how to record that the drivers are on site instead of them staying with their vehicles on evacuation.

Posted By Stuart Nagle How about they sign in at the gatehouse or transport office when they check in on site on arrival. Assuming your staff who man these areas respond to the fire alarm and drills, they can bring the record with them when they come to the fire aseembly point. Ensuring the drivers are safe and not frying in their cabs next to a blazing factory unit of warehouse might also be useful here, so the procedures need to cover the drivers as well. wait in their cabs or evacuate? where are they? are they at risk too?
