Posted By CU Has anyone carried out any research into germs on mobile phones. Who cleans their mobile phone. I have not, but I might when I get some feed back of this thread. 12 months is usually the minimum term that someone will have a mobile phone. It goes every where with them. Nights out drinking, restuarants, take aways, to work, on the loo, some even use it during bedroom activities and lots of other places that I dont want to even think about.

Posted By J Knight People have written viruses for 3G phones, but perhaps that's not what you mean? How can I catch something from myself, anyway? I maen, it's me what uses my phone, and I know I take it into the toilet with me etc etc, but it's usually in my pocket or bag at the time. Has anybody ever suspected that they've caught anything from their phone? Apart, that is, from a roasting for a) staying out late b) staying in the wrong room/bed c) spending too much d) not spending enough (presents) e) etc? John

Posted By Paula BrattonYoung I don't think there's anything specifically for mobiles, but there's some for home phones. Try http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/759240.stm There's plenty more on google if that doesn't work. Paula

Posted By Jonathan Breeze John, You're not taking this seriously enough here... According to Adams (1978) the whole of Golgafrincham civilisation was "...all suddenly wiped out by a virulent disease contracted from a dirty telephone."

Posted By SIMON HOWES Why on earth should anyone want to bother. Compared with the newly established risk of falling from a height of 10cm, batphones are not a problem. Anyway the best solution is to go and talk to people instead.

Posted By Ron Hunter Surely when conducting any research (whether into germs or any other subject) it would be much more cost effective to use land lines? Mobiles are very expensive! I'm sorry CU, I couldn't resist that one ;) I'm of the school of thought that there is a growing over-emphasis on germ eraddication in our society today - let you children grow up and play in the dirt - it didn't do us any harm! As previous posts suggest, risk has to be much, much less than any public handset? Do Kim & Aggie have an opinion on this one?

Posted By Heather Aston John & Jonathan It served them right though since they'd sent all the telephone sanitisers off in the B Ark (or was it the C Ark). Would probably have been demolished by the Vogons to make way for a hyperspace bypass sooner or later anyway. Heather (are there people reading this thread who have no idea what we are talking about?)

Posted By Merv Newman Adam, yes you are missing something - try a phone with a "silent ring" function and then give yourself a call. Merv
