Posted By Gordon Thelwell I have lived with clinical depression for over 10 years and just as long on medication. Does the DDA apply to my condition as well as others who live with it?

Posted By J Knight Probably; mental illness no longer needs to be clinically recognised to qualify as a condition under DDA; it just needs to have a significant impact on the activities of daily living, John

Posted By GeoffB What would one be looking for in the workplace for the purposes of the DDA in the case of clinical depression?

Posted By David Sinclair John, Currently phychiatric illness does have to be clinically recognised to fall within the DDA, however, the proposed amendments to the DDA will change this. That said, depression is currently recognised by the WHO and therefore it will fall within the DDA. Regards. David
