would any body out there have any information on wether bus drivers using prodata or wayfarer ticking machines would come under the v.d.u.regs

Ben,
My gut feeling is No, based on table 2 in the Guidance associated with Reg.1.
The exclusions mentioned by Paul are covered by paragraphs 22 to 26 of the Guidance.
By implication a driver will not be concentrating for long periods on the ticket machine - because he will be driving.
Paul, was there anything more definite mentioned which I have missed?

Regulation 1(4) states that nothing in the Regulations shall apply to or in relation to:
driver's cabs or control cabs for vehicles or machinery
display screen equipment on board a means of transport.
Also excluded are calculators, cash registers or any equipment having a small data or measurement display required for direct use of the equipment.
