Hi all,
Just looking for a little advice on where to find certain information. I've tried some sites so far with no luck.
As far as I am aware, there is no specific legislation relating the to the surface of tiles in swimming pools. I imagine there is some form of facts and figures that determine what material of tiles should be used, how and when they should be treated / replaced etc.
We are undergoing an accident investgation where a member of the public slipped on the tiles whilst walking on the poolside.
Im just looking for figures concerning floor surfaces in pools / pool sides and where they came from.
Many Thanks
Thomas

Relevant guidance in
HSG179 "Managing health and safety in swimming pools"
BS 5385-3:1989 Wall and floor tiling. Code of practice for the design and installation of
ceramic floor tiles and mosaics
also may be useful information in
HELA Local Authority Circular 47/16 Leisure - Health and Safety in Swimming Pools.
Regards, Peter

Tools for measuring surface slipperiness available from the HSE Laboratory would appear to be very relevant to the accident investigation you refer to.
You can download relevant guidance from their website.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the posts. We have obtained the mentioned documents and have spoken to one of the scientists who was involved with the 'pendulum test' courtesy of the HSE.

Can I also suggest you contact a company called "no-slip", they will tell you all you need to know.
