Posted By Bill Elliott Paul - this condition is potentially very contagious depending on whether it is viral or bacterial. It could be that the treatment, if treatment has been prescribed, is causing the difficulty as the drops/ointment tend to blur vision. Scrupulous hand hygiene is essential for the user after touching eyes or administering the medication, any tissues used to wipe away tears, should be immediately consigned to the nearest bin. It is usually only of very short duration and responds well to treatment. It is possible that symptoms are related to other conditions and medical opinion is essential to rule these out.
