Posted By Debbie Shepherd Does anyone know if there is a maximum safe stacking height for floor stacked pallets of sacks of powders(non toxic, 25kgs each) or large paper rolls(1.3 metre high each when stacked on end) or at least some useful guidance I could get hold of on calculating a safe stack height taking into account base dimensions, stability etc

Posted By Martin Taylor I must admit that this sounds quite a high stack for a pallet dimension of 1m x 1.2m this would make a 6m high stack. Considering the scaffold guideline of 3 x minimum base dimension 6 x seems dodgy for stability and especially for accuaracy of loading by fork truck. I don't have a figure myself and would be interested in other responses to this question - I have posted similar questions in the past with regards to stacking of stillages (metal boxes) but didn't get a great deal of response. This strikes me as a very common industrial situation and I would expect some form of standards to refer to. hope you get some more response - I'll keep an eye out thanks Martin
