I've just been advised by a staff member that there was an article in one of yesterdays papers about Hot Desking & the various h&s implications of this practice.
(He says it might have been the Express or the Mail.)
Does anyone here know which paper this was and if the article is available on the internet?

While I didn't see any article on 'Hotdesking' in recent newspapers, stress issues associated with the practice have been explored for some time.
A psychologist called Dermot Browne wrote a research paper on the subject published by the HSE about 2002.
The HSE Managment Standards on Work-Related Stress 2004 and the 2002 update of the 1992 DSE Regs together addresss all the relevant health and safety issues and propose relevant psychological and ergonomic methods of control.

Thanks Kieran for that, I'll take a further look at those. My own investigations have so far drawn a blank.
However, I found a good document on the HSE Website, the HELA Circular 94/1 rev "Advice Regarding Call Centre Working Practices" which has several pertinent sections with useful guidance.
Although we're not a call centre, the comments about hot desking and associated guidance are very useful.
