Posted By Charley Farley-Trelawney Well a couple of weeks on since the presentation and things have settled down well, am now the proud H&S Director so must have handled things just about right. Masses of work to do just now as the company is expanding at some real rate of knots! As requested by the original thread I just wanted to thank anyone who contributed with the information I needed. MANY THANKS. Charles

Posted By Charley Farley-Trelawney No Stuart, could not cajole him to do it, had to go it alone, lunch however with the opportunity to chat with such an expert as Merv is well worth the small cost of some nosh. We can never have enough H&S buddies in our industry, the more the merrier, mind you; you woulden't want to get stuck in the corner with one at a party etc, you can just see the eye peep lids of the others gently closing when you start quoting the regs, acts and alllllll the ol buzzwords we all know and love to be able to recite word for word! Ever in my neck of the woods? pop in; always glad to meet others in the fraternity. lunch a pleasure. Charley

Posted By Heather Aston Congratulations Charley - you must have done something right then - good for you! I can assure you I don't talk about H&S at parties all that often though. While I realise that those of you who've made it to the exalted height of Director proabably do live your entire life for health and safety, we mere mortals have the occasional outside interest too. Invite me to your party and you'll see! (Don't worry Merv you can come to my party if Charley won't ask you to his) It's Friday. Heather

Posted By Charley Farley-Trelawney Many thanks for the entertaining comments; in an area of work that is as serious as it gets; (the preservation of life) it is refreshing to find some humor when the stress factor can be quite daunting at times; for instance, chappies today 15 metres up on the roof, doing arc welding, in a confined space, electrical equipment, fire implications, falling, harnesses to check, lanyards, MEWPS, gennies, PPE....etc; (at least no excavations today) wish I could eliminate the lot and click me fingers; job done so to speak. Lets face it chaps and chappeses we all feel better when the works are completed and they are safe and sound and the working area is left safe..........now then, let me just go and inspect the area to ensure my vehicle and pedestrian segregation is working. Note to myself: 'book appointment with optician to get eyes in back of head checked'! TTFN Charley with that (Y) Thanks for the note to yourself Jon!

Posted By Merv Newman Heather, If your party on Friday is today I may be a bit late as you are outside my 500 mile limit. But put at least one bottle of Bowmore behind the sideboard for me wont you ? Or were you just trying to remind me that today is Friday ? Merv Charley, thanks for the invite, I'll let my wife drive so that I can keep within company H&S guidelines. On long trips we swap off every couple of hours. Why, she complains, does she always get the stretch with the traffic jams, the roadworks and the pouring rain ? Proactive research says I. Whereupon I usually get thumped.

Posted By Heather Aston Merv It was just remind you (and everyone else)that today is Friday before I get told off by the self-appointed thread police (no Mods not you) for dragging threads OT AGAIN. The party is at my convenience...... although apparently Jon won't come because you'll always find him (being miserable) in the kitchen at parties. Bowmore it is then. Have a good w/e one and all Heather

Posted By Jonathan Breeze Is it Friday Heather? No, I'll come if you want me to. Shall I bring my Morrissey records? We can talk about life, liberty & the persuit of happiness if you want, though I doubt we'll find it. It's all so futile don't you know!
