Posted By Robin B Hi Can anyone out there help? I'm looking for a provider of a very specialised, but minimal content, first aid training course. What is required is to provide CPR and administer an intramuscular injection, under a specific set of circumstances. [Absorbtion of a theraputic substance through a new, or reasonably fresh, open wound]. The most important criteria is a rapid/instant response [within 2 minutes]. In the past such training was available from two providers but both have informed us they are no longer prepared to undertake such training. No other first aid treatment would be asked of any employee selected for this training, unless they were also "general" First Aiders [unlikely]. Robin

Posted By Kathy Smith Hi there You could try your local ambulance service - ours provides First Aid at Work training on an income generation basis. I don't believe we provide the training you require but it doesn't hurt to ask (unless you have already done so of course!). Best of luck.

Posted By Andrew Perrett Robin, www.staffsafetysolutions.co.uk provide FAW and specialised First Aid Courses designed around a risk assessment analysis. Clearly, given the limited detail in your posting, it is difficult to identify all the issues, however in general terms the issues of administering drugs is a difficult but not insurmountable issue, the importance is to ensure that any policy, procedures and training is under written and supported by a qualified and competent source. Contact Staff Safety Solutions Ltd. to discuss and hopefully resolve the issues Andrew Perrett
