Posted By Simon White The Building Services Reseach & Information Association (BSRIA) produce a good set of documents, one of which is dedicated to risk assessment procedures. A word of caution, they are for use by suitably experieneced in house staff or by specialist consultants. See www.bsria.co.uk

Clarke Hi, The HSE book L8 Legionnaires' Disease: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems - Approved Code of Practice and Guidance is useful and an audit proforma is available at http://www.hse.gov.uk/lau/lacs/46-3.htm. I have found these documents to be very helpful for my own understanding of the issues involved but I would also reiterate the last response regarding the exercise of caution. I work for a local authority with a large number of sites and we have a competent contractor carry out legionnaires risk assessments where deemed necessary.
