Posted By joedukeries does anyone know if it is mandatory to have coshh sheets available immediatly to hand, or can one issue them "as and when" e.g i may have to type 1000 sheets but can i do them upon request.

Posted By Bev Why have you got to do 1000 COSHH Assessments? This doesn't sound like you have much control over the substances you use! You should limit what they have to specific substances for specific jobs, and you can group these together on one assessment, for example oils used in maintenance - limit the variety, choose the safest, one assessment for all. Paints - one assessment, but covering all aspects, including cleaning of brushes etc - use water based where poss! If I was you, do an inventory of what they've all got and what they use it for. Get rid of any real nasties and control what you will allow them to have. You should COSHH assess all haz subs BEFORE they are used but you only need brief / issue assessments to those doing that particular work.
