Posted By Eddie O'Callaghan I work in the rail/construction environment and apart from poorly constructed mobile tower scaffold the main problems we encounter regards working at heights is people working in an unsafe manner from steps. The Regs make no specific mention of steps, or should I interpret any reference to ladders also includes by definition step ladders? I appreciate that any use of steps should be supported by a Risk Assessment but we never see them. Can any one help with an example of a suitable and sufficient assessment for installation work from step ladders that I could have a look at.
