Posted By MRA What specific legal duties does a building landlord/owner have in respect to fire and life safety management systems/controls - the building is multi-tenanted and has recently had a small fire which could have been significantly worse but fire proteciton systems etc. are not being maintained adequately - urgent thoughts would be appreciated.

Posted By Jonathan Sandler The Landlord has a duty for the common parts of the building. You might wish to consult the Landlords and Tennents Act for further guidance.
